Spin & Tension is a local racquet stringing service based in the heart of Washington, DC. I launched this service after realizing how difficult it is to find reliable stringing in the city center. I began stringing racquets 13 years ago to help pay for my own tennis lessons as a junior and have been stringing for myself and others ever since. My goal is a fast, two-day turnaround—so if you need your racquet strung or want personalized string recommendations, feel free to reach out via email below!
Q: Where are you located?
A: We are based in Capitol Hill, Washington, DC. Exact address details will be provided upon booking.
Q: How long does stringing take?
A: Standard turnaround is about 48 hours depending on workload.
Q: Do you provide strings?
A: Yes—strings are available for purchase, or you can bring your own. I characterize the selection of on-hand strings as small but robust. I have a good breadth of string types, but may not have what you'd like on-hand at the moment. Feel free to reach out and see what I have in stock!
Q: How do I get my racquet to you?
A: This is the most frequently asked question. Most of the raquets that I receive are dropped off at the location of the business. Once you book a restring online or by calling, I will provide better details and time estimates for drop off. Additionally, I have had clients in the past who either couldn't get to me at the pre-arranged time or did not want to brave D.C. traffic (no judgement here!). In those instances, people have opted to use Uber Courier to both send their racquets to me and then have me send their racquets back. Regardless, once you schedule a restring, we will figure something out that works for the both of us and get your racquets ready for the courts!
